Community Development Meeting at Yay-Yin Village
Biodiversity Monitoring  with the Community
Field Training for Agricultural Development

In the conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity, community participation is important to achieve the goal of sustainable resource extraction.   Myanmar Environment Institute (MEI) carried out an ecological conservation and community development project around Alaungdaw Kathapa National Park.  The project applied the Community Conservation Concession Agreement (CCCA) model in conducting the project.  The concept of the CCCA is to bring stakeholders together to sign a contract on how to act within the community protected areas.  According to the contract, stakeholders are empowered to share the protection rights and limited exploration rights of the natural resources in the area.
